I use original factory disk to refurbish computers whenever possible. I try to set machines up the same way factories do, with one major exception I don't like to put trialware, and spyware on computers. I do try FREE programs out so that I can try to offer a full line of fully functional software that is fairly simple to use. I try to check all parts that I use are sell.(but remember they are still used and sometimes you can't tell if its about to go out). I thank you for Shopping with me and happy computing. |
Below are some very good Alternatives to the microsoft operating systems. The ones that are listed below are very good to learn linux on. Why pay when you can surf and play for free. open sorce is not like it used to be where you needed to be a geek to understand it. The new system are getting very usable and fun to play with. good luck and happy computing. |
Youtube Downloader |
This simple freeware application works pretty well, given how basic the interface is. It has two main features: to download FLV files from YouTube, and to convert them to most major formats. If there's a YouTube URL in your clipboard, it will automatically paste it for you when you click on the dialog box. From there, just hit OK and the downloading will commence. One more left-click is all it takes to load the file in the converter, which supports iPhone, iPod, PSP, cell phone, AVI, MP3, WMV, and Xvid. Surprisingly, there's also a basic video editor for cropping videos by time stamp. You can also cut out the sound when converting. |

Viruses Viruses are an on going problem, as long as Microsoft develops operating systems. Then there will always be some guy with a grudge trying to destroy them. Well that leaves people like you and myself in the middle. (Makes you just want to ask someone why me I haven’t did anything to any one)? Well, the people that write viruses don’t care about you or me. Mostly there are two kinds of viruses( I know there are hundreds of definitions that’s not what I mean). I am talking about the viruses that want to steal something and those that are wrote to just mess your machine up. The later being fewer than the first. Anyway the point being your antivirus is only as good as you make it. Do daily scans. DO NOT directly open files from the net or email. Always save them to disk then scan them and then you can open them. If you don’t want to keep them you can always delete them. Never trust a file just because your friend or relative sent it to you. (remember that the computer is like having sex. Every person that you associate with you also associate with everyone that they associated with. So they might have something they didn’t find. Always use a email client so you do not have to directly open mail before you check it.( remember that most of the time when your virus scanner sees it. Its already to late. Make sure that you keep your antivirus updated Never ever ever give your name and personal information out over the net. If you must bank online then when finished always delete browsing history and restart your machine Never ever let windows or any other program save your passwords and logins. Write them down or save them to a thumb drive. Last but not least read what you are clicking on. 50% of all problems that I fix are from someone clicking something their not sure about. |
